    Tatertot Casserole - bubbly and hot out of the oven!!

  • Step 1

    Pre-heat your oven per the tatertot baking directions.

    Gather ingredients.

    You'll need:
    1lb Hamburger or Ground Turkey
    1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
    1 bag (2 cups) of cheese - I use the Colby/Jack Blend.
    Milk
    1 bag of tatertots.

    Brown your meat.
    I season it with dried onions, and salt & pepper.

    Combine meat and soup. Add milk as per your own personal taste.
    Consistency should be not thick, but not soupy. I like mine less-thick as I think it makes the casseole better so I use a little more milk.

    In a 9x13 pan, layer tatertots on the bottom. No need to grease the pan!

    Layer meat/soup/milk mixture over the top of the tatertots.

    Layer cheese (I used the whole smaller bag and then some - because really, can you go wrong with too much cheese??) over tatertots and meat stuff.

    Stick in the oven to bake. I just watch for the edges and top of the cheese to start browning and bubbling.

    Will be very hot after taking out of the oven, so be careful. Serve with a green salad and you've got a super quick and easy meal! My 2 year old had 2 servings tonight...this is seriously something I make a few times a month!!
